My Prenuvo Experience: A Full Body MRI for Peace of Mind

Funny GIF

For Christmas, my husband gifted me a full-body MRI through Prenuvo. I live with multiple autoimmune diseases and chronic illnesses, which means I often experience pain without knowing exactly what’s going on inside. That uncertainty creates a lot of anxiety—especially since I lost my mother at a young age to a rare lung disease. Medical unknowns are deeply personal and stressful for me.

Earlier in 2024, my husband had done a Prenuvo scan and found it both fascinating and informative. His positive experience helped me decide I was ready to try it too.

A Different Kind of Imaging Experience

Chronic illness has made me very familiar with medical imaging. I’ve had more ultrasounds, MRIs, and CT scans than most people will in their entire lives. Typically, these experiences involve cold rooms, paper gowns, and just trying to get through the discomfort.

Prenuvo was completely different.

It starts in a spa-like lounge stocked with organic snacks and drinks. Instead of a paper gown, you change into comfortable scrubs. You even get to watch a movie or show of your choice during the scan. I chose Brain on Fire because I’d recently finished the book—maybe not the most relaxing choice, but I was fine!

Because it’s a full-body scan, it takes a while, but the movie made the time pass quickly. I finished almost the entire film before it was over.

The Results: Clear, Comprehensive, and Empowering

About a week later, Prenuvo provides your results. They offer a phone consultation (which I missed) but also upload everything to an online portal. You can view your full imaging set and a detailed report that explains their findings.

Let me just say—the images are amazing.

The GIF at the top is one of the image styles they show. Below is a beautiful shot of the arthritis in my spine.

If you’ve seen typical MRI scans before, you know they can be grainy or confusing. These were clear, well-labeled, and even interactive. I always request copies of my scans for my doctors, and these put every past scan I’ve had—no matter the cost—to shame.

Prenuvo also creates a comprehensive report you can easily share with your care team. My orthopedic specialist used it to evaluate new arthritis-related symptoms in my knees. My endocrinologist appreciated being able to visualize inflammation throughout my body. Both now view this scan as a tool we can use to track changes year over year.

Is It Worth It?

Yes, it’s expensive. But compared to a traditional MRI—which usually only covers one part of your body—the value is undeniable. For most people, it’s a luxury. But if you live with complex health conditions or intense medical anxiety, I truly believe it’s worth it.
